Zum zweiten Mal wurden die American Poker Awards verliehen. Zu den Gewinnern gehörten Daniel Negreanu, Byron Kaverman, Anthony Zinno sowie Mike Sexton.
Das SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills war gestern Gastgeber für den GPL Draft sowie die American Poker Awards. Bei der Preisverleihung waren Poker-Pros, Turnierveranstalter sowie Personen aus der Industrie in insgesamt elf Kategorien nominiert.
Dazu gab es zwei Spieler des Jahres-Trophäen sowie zwei spezielle Awards. So wurde Mike Sexton mit dem Lifetime Achievement Award ausgezeichnet und Kevin Mathers aka KevMath erhielt eine Ehrenauszeichnung für seine „Verdienste innerhalb der Industrie“.

In den Kategorien Spieler des Jahres, welche anhand der Global Poker Index-Regelung vergeben wurden, bekamen Byron Kaverman sowie Kelly Minkin jeweils einen Award überreicht. In den weiteren Kategorien gehörten Matt Savage (Industry Person of the Year), Anthony Zinno (Tournament Performance of the Year), Kara Scott (Poker Presenter of the Year), Daniel Negreanu (Poker Moment of the Year) sowie Joe Giron (Poker Media Content of the Year) zu den Gewinnern.
