Lee Davy hat für 888poker mehr als 50 Poker-Pros zum Thema Bücher befragt. Heraus kam eine Rangliste mit den „einflussreichsten Poker-Büchern aller Zeiten“.
Es gibt zahlreiche Bücher zum Thema Poker. Über Sinn beziehungsweise Unsinn streiten sich die Gemüter. Lee Davy hat sich die Mühe gemacht und eine Liste mit den bekanntesten Büchern erstellt. Diese Liste hat der Brite 56 professionellen Spielern vorgelegt und bewerten lassen.
Zu den Juroren gehörten Kristy Arnett, Matt Ashton, Daniel Cates, Ryan D’Angelo, Daniel Dvoress, Rupert Elder, Andrew Frankenberger, Jason Koon, Adam Levy, Andrew Lichtenberger, Jonathan Little, Mike McDonald, Sorel Mizzi, Nick Petrangelo, Brian Rast, Erik Seidel, Justin Smith, Jason Wheeler, Anton Wigg sowie Philipp Gruissem, Igor Kurganov und Dominik Nitsche.
Jeder Juror musste seine persönliche Top 10 der einflussreichsten Poker-Bücher aufstellen, wobei die #1 jeweils 10 Punkte erhielt, das Buch auf Rang 2 9 Punkte und so weiter. Einige Spieler reichten weniger als zehn Tipps ein, manche sogar nur ein Buch.
Insgesamt wurden 28 Bücher als das einflussreichste Buch aufgezählt, die Wertung führte am Ende Harrington on Hold’em Vol. I an. Platz 2 ging an Super System. Danach folgen Gus Hansens Every Hand Revealed, The Mathematics of Poker sowie The Mental Game of Poker.
Insgesamt 86 Bücher haben es auf die Liste geschafft. Dan Harrington, Bill Robertie und David Sklansky sind jeweils sechsmal als Autor vertreten. Doyle Brunson kommt auf vier Einträge und jeweils dreimal werden Daniel Negreanu und Jonathan Little genannt.
