Mit Österreich wird nächste Woche ein nicht unerheblicher Teil der deutschsprachigen Poker-Community von PokerStars.fr ausgeschlossen. Der französische Poker Room zieht sich ab dem 1. März zurück.
Wie derzeit in mehreren Foren diskutiert wird, grenzt PokerStars.fr ab kommenden Dienstag alle Spieler aus Österreich aus. Die betroffenen User wurden per Email informiert, da dieser Schritt „aufgrund der jüngsten Änderungen im Rechtssystem in Österreich“ genommen wird. (Update; siehe weiter unten) PokerStars bezieht sich damit auf die Steuer, die seit 1. Januar zusätzlich in Österreich abzutreten ist. (Update Ende)
Ab dem 1. März 2016 können Spieler aus Österreich nur noch auf das Konto zugreifen, jedoch nicht mehr spielen. Turniertickets und Turniereuro (T€) werden in Euro umgewandelt, verbliebene StarsCoin müssen eingetauscht werden. Ausgezahlt werden kann auch noch nach dem Stichtag.

We are writing to inform you that, due to latest change of the legal framework in Austria, starting at 10:00 ET on March 1st we will stop allowing players based in Austria to play on the PokerStars.fr site.
Your PokerStars.fr account will remain open and accessible, and your funds may be withdrawn at any time to your registered bank account. Any tournamnet tickets or T€ balance will be automatically converted to Euro when you visit the Cashier.
You are welcome to use your StarsCoin to purchase Cash Rebates or any other items from the VIP Store with the exepction of online tickets. Please also be informed that your Real Money and StarsCoin balance cannot be transferred between accounts on differents licenses.”
Update (18:45h, Original Meldung um 14:25h): Auf Rückfrage gab es folgende Antwort „On January 1st, 2016, PokerStars started paying gaming duty taxes to the Austrian Government for play on PokerStars.FR by players who had a registered address in Austria.
This additional tax was in addition to the tax that PokerStars was already paying to the French government for play by all players on PokerStars.FR.
It was unsustainable for PokerStars to pay double tax – to both the Austrian and French Governments – for play by Austrians on PokerStars.FR. Consequently, we have little choice, and need to stop allowing players with a registered address in Austria to play on PokerStars.FR.
Please note this is only for Austrian players.”
