Der zweite Starttag der PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) in Prag ist gespielt. Marc Gork bleibt Chipleader für Tag 2, aber mit Andreas Eiler konnte sich ein weiterer Deutscher vorne etablieren. Aber auch Jude Ainsworth und ElkY mischen mit.
Wie schon an Tag 1A waren auch am zweiten Starttag die deutschsprachigen Spieler gut vertreten. Allen voran stand natürlich PokerStars Sport Star Boris Becker, Rino Mathis und Sebastian Ruthenberg komplettierten das Feld der PokerStars Pros. Außerdem waren Bracelet-Gewinner Carsten Joh, Konstantin Bücherl, Pokerstorm Dragan Galic, Nico Behling, Benny Spindler, Jan Meinberg, Jan Peter Jachtmann, David Wintersberger, Andreas Eiler, Frank D, Karl-Heinz Klose, Marco Witt, Benjamin Spiehs, Sam El Sayed und auch Peter Karall am Start. Die PokerStars Pros liefen zudem mit Luca Pagano, Alex Kravchenko, Dario Minieri, Noah Boeken, Johnny Lodden, William Thorson, Jude Ainsworth, Bertrand „ElkY“ Grospellier, Thierry Van den Berg und einigen anderen mehr auf. Zudem sah man auch Ilari „Ziigmund“ Sahamies, Poker Europameister Martin Kabrhel, Roy Winston, Mel Judah, Peter Hedlund, Soren Kongsgaard, Huck Seed und andere prominente Gesichter.
Mit 365 Startern an Tag 1B kam man auf eine Gesamtzahl von 584, was noch mehr als die 570 vom letzten Jahr sind. Auf den Sieger warten respektable € 682.000, insgesamt werden 80 Plätze bezahlt, wobei die Plätze 73 bis 80 mit € 8.000 belohnt werden.
Benny Spindler hatte zunächst einen guten Start und konnte mit gegen auf einem Board von sein Stack ordentlich ausbauen, Sebastian Ruthenberg und Boris Becker dagegen halbierten ihre Startdotationen schneller als ihnen lieb war. In Level 3 kam für Boris Becket dann auch das Aus, als er mit gegen Jacks all-in war. Am Board und Boris zog von dannen. Auch Jan Meinberg musste sich früh verabschieden, ebenso wie Dragan Galic und Sebastian Ruthenberg. Dragan war schon short, als er mit Assen noch einmal verdoppelte, kurz darauf aber mit Queens gegen Könige lief. Auch Jan Peter Jachtmann musste gehen. Sebastian Ruthenberg versuchte sich mit Jacks, doch ein Spieler fand die Asse. Diese hielten auch am Board und die Luckbox hatte Feierabend. Benny Spindlers guter Start hatte sich in Luft aufgelöst und seine verbliebenen 6k setzte er auf . Gegen konnte er dann doch nichts ausrichten und musste ebenfalls seinen Platz räumen.
Ilari Sahamies verabschiedete zuerst Carter Phillips aus dem Turnier, musste nach einer ausgiebigen Dinnerbreak aber gegen den Flush von Katalin Jerney viele Chips wieder abgeben. Kurz darauf hatte er ebenso frei wie auch Johnny Lodden, Salvatore Bonavena oder Huck Seed. Was passieren kann, wenn man seine Hand nicht zeigt, musste Vladamir Geshkenbein lernen. Am Board , nachdem sein Gegner zeigte, muckte Geshkenbein – um dann zu fragen, ob denn da zwei Kings am Board waren. Als ihm die anderen erklären, dass es nur ein König und zwei Jacks waren, gab Geshkenbein ein zerknirschtes „I’ve foldet a jack“ von sich. Hätte er die Hand gezeigt, wäre sein Stack um 20k größer gewesen.
Während es kurz vor Ende des Tages auch Konstantin Bücherl erwischte, konnte Andreas Eiler sein Stack gewaltig aufbauen. Er nahm Martin Kabrhel einen Großteil seines Stacks ab und während der Europameister kurz darauf seinen Platz räumen musste, konnte über 150k vor sich stapeln.
Mit 327 verbliebenen Spielern geht es in Tag 2, Marc Gork bleibt Chipleader, insgesamt sind noch 32 Spieler aus Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz mit dabei.
