Die PokerGO Studios waren letzte Nacht Schauplatz der 2. Global Poker Awards. 25 der begehrten Trophäen wurden vergeben, darunter natürlich auch die GPI Player Awards für Alex Foxen und Kristen Bicknell.
Es war wieder ein bewegtes Pokerjahr mit vielen Highlights. Die GPI Awards sind nach wie vor allerdings quasi die American Poker Awards mit ein bisschen internationalem Touch. So konnte sich Robert Campbell über den GPI Breakout Player of the Year freuen und Paul Phua von Triton wurde als GPI Industry Person of the Year ausgezeichnet.
Den Medienkampf sicherte sich Joey Ingram als Journalist of the Year und für die Aufarbeitung der Mike Postle Story, er ging mit zwei Awards nach Hause. Als bestes Foto wurde der Fold von Dario Sammartino am WSOP Final Table ausgezeichnet und so konnte sich auch Drew Amato über die Trophäe freuen.
