Gestern, den 5. April, wurden im PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas in Zusammenarbeit von Global Poker Index (GPI), Poker Central und PokerStars die Global Poker Awards 2018 vergeben. Insgesamt 20 Awards wurden vergeben, wobei auch einer für Doyle Brunson dabei war.
Wirkliche Überraschungen gab es nicht und durch die Zusammenlegung der European mit den American Poker Awards war die Angelegenheit schon sehr US-lastig. Die einzige deutsche Nominierung war Christian Zetzsche in der Kategorie „Pokerjournalist“, hier war es aber Sarah Herring, die die Trophäe überreicht bekam. Die Zeremonie selbst gab es kostenlos im PokerGo Livestream zu sehen.
