IPT Malta mit neuem Teilnehmerrekord

In der elften Saison der PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) sind schon viele Rekorde gefallen und auch beim € 1.100 Main Event der Italian Poker Tour (IPT) Malta wurde eine neue Bestmarke gesetzt. 907 Teilnehmer an Tag 1B sorgten für eine Gesamtzahl von 1.285 und damit ist es das größte IPT Event bisher.

EPT11MAL_Chipleader_Do_Chung_Tran_9263_JulesPochy2014 konnten beim IPT Main 1.124 Spieler verzeichnet werden, allerdings mit einem niedrigeren Buy-In von € 770. Mit den 1.285 Entries beim aktuellen IPT Malta Event wurde demzufolge auch ein Rekordpreispool von € 1.246.450 erreicht werden.

Rekordverdächtig ist dabei auch die hohe Beteiligung an deutschen Spielern. Mit 111 Deutschen im Feld stellte man einmal mehr die zweitstärkste Nation, nur die Italiener waren mit 354 Spielern deutlich besser vertreten. Demzufolge waren auch jede Menge bekannte Spieler der deutschsprachigen Community mit dabei – Team PokerStars Pro Jan Heitmann, Thomas Mühlöcker, Gerald Karlic, Konstantinos Nanos, Jens Lakemeier, Oliver Weis, Martin Mulsow, Ismael Bojang, Marius Pospiech, Stefan Huber, Koray Aldemir, Hanh Tran, Amir Mozaffarian, Mario Puccini, Heinz Kamutzki, Jamila von Perger, Sebastian Pauli, Pascal Hartmann, Dominik Nitsche, Julian Track, Peter Neumann und viele, viele mehr.

Neben Jan Heitmann waren auch Matthias und Christophe De Meulder als Team PokerStars Vertreter am Start, zudem auch Martin Jacobson, Ognjen Sekularac, Steve O’Dwyer, Mike McDonald, Salman Behbehani, Salvatore Bonavena, Simeon Naydenov und so weiter.

Während der zehn Levels wurde wieder kräftig ausgesiebt und weniger als die Hälfte der gestarteten Spieler konnte Chips eintüten. Die Führung sicherte sich Do Tran, der nicht nur Salvatore Bonavena, sondern auch Nikolay Yosifov nach Hause schickte und am Ende 278.00 eintüten konnte. Jan Heitmann hatte einen schlechten Start, konnte dann aber gegen Ende mit Assen gegen Jacks verdoppeln und sicher den Tag überstehen.

Insgesamt haben 514 Spieler die beiden Starttage erfolgreich beendet und gehen heute in Tag 2 bei den Blinds 600/1200, Ante 100. Das Ziel sind die 191 bezahlten Plätze, wobei der Min-Cash € 1.720 einbringt. Auf den Sieger warten am Ende € 221.200, aber bis dahin ist es noch ein langer Weg.
