PokerStars’ Face of the European Poker Tour Breaks Ties
Thomas Kremser, CEO of TK Poker Events and the Tournament Executive Director of the European Poker Tour since its inception in 2004, announced today, he has been bitten by the “7 Year Itch.” He reports that TK Poker Events has just broken his ties with PokerStars’ European Poker Tour.
Mr. Kremser explains, “The time is right to explore new adventures and also to adjust our business model to emphasize closer cooperation with licensed casino operators.”
In making the announcement, he extended special thanks to all of the players and host casinos that have participated in the EPT and expressed gratitude to Isai Scheinberg for the vision that provided a unique collaborative opportunity.
Kremser recalls, “When I accepted the offer from EPT CEO John Duthie to partner with him in this venture with Poker Stars, I was thrilled. In my mind, pairing an ambitious online poker site with a leading off-line service provider was a perfect match!.“
TK Poker has been the EPT’s exclusive official consultant, representing the EPT’s interests at each venue. Mr. Kremser, the EPT’s Tournament Executive Director has staffed prestigious festivals for the EPT all across Europe. According to Mr. Kremser, “EPT was the center piece in its diverse portfolio of clients.”
Several weeks ago, Mr. Kremser notified PokerStars of the need to review the nature of their relationship. He notes, in keeping with his personal philosophy, that until withdrawing from the current contract talks today, he has previously declined to enter into negotiations with others so as to replace PokerStars/EPT as a client.
With today’s decision to move on, Mr. Kremser looks to the future: “I am excited about exploring new vistas and growing treasured relationships with casinos that have come to rely on TK as the face of professionalism, integrity and exceptional service in poker tournament operations and consulting matters.”
Mr. Kremser invites one and all to http://www.youtube.com/tkpokerevents to view TK’s “Player Appreciation Video.” He promises, “It will bring a few chuckles.” He declares, “I have had the time of my life as an EPT business partner in our joint efforts to meet players highest expectations.”
