Wie gestern schon berichtet, werden auf der Webseite pokerq4.com schwere Vorwürfe gegen Turnierdirektor Thomas Kremser erhoben. Thomas Kremser, bekannt für seine Diskretion und Verlässlichkeit, tritt diesen Anschuldigungen nun mit einer Pressemitteilung und einem Video-Interview entgegen.
Als „ungeheuerliche falsche Darstellungen und groteske Anspielungen“ bezeichnet er den Bericht auf pokerQ4.com. Die Trennung von PokerStars und der EPT ohne großartige Angabe von Gründen hinterließ in der Pokerszene viel Raum für Gerüchte und Spekulationen. Geschäftliches trägt man normalerweise – und schon gar nicht Thomas Kremser – an die Öffentlichkeit, aber aufgrund der Vorwürfe durch die anonymen Schreiber haben Thomas Kremser und PokerStars entschieden, dass es auch dazu eine Stellungnahme geben wird, denn damit wird den Gerüchten jeder Nährboden entzogen.

THOMAS KREMSER STEPS UP TO THE PLATE
VIENNA, (August 11, 2011) this morning Thomas Kremser, CEO of TK Poker Events took the stage on his home court of Vienna to denounce an article by pokerQ4.com that suggests improprieties in the payouts of EPT prize pools. He says the story contains “egregious misstatements and preposterous innuendo.”
The longtime tournament director and official consultant to Poker Stars/EPT until last May labeled the story as ”un-redeemable trash by a writer who hides his true identity and his sources.”
Thomas says he much prefers the diplomacy and discretion, for which he is well known throughout the poker world, but that in this case he is obliged to make exception. He explained that for Poker Stars and for himself in this case he sees it as necessary to call out the uninformed gossiper.
He adds, “The article and other inaccurate speculation about the underlying reasons for my leaving the EPT after a seven year business partnership have also persuaded me to provide a fuller explanation for my decision to break ties with Poker Stars last May.”
In a feature article scheduled to appear on Friday, online, Thomas will answer a reporter’s questions on a broad range of issues of interest for the poker community, including details related to his decision to leave negotiations with Poker Stars for an eighth season in midstream and without notice.
