World Series of Poker 2009 – Event # 7: Der nächste Massenansturm

No Limit Hold’em ist nach wie vor das Spiel der Massen. Am ersten $1.500 No Limit Hold’em Event nahmen 2.791 Spieler teil und sorgten für einen Preispool von $3.809.715. Somit warten auf den Sieger $666.850. Aber bis dahin ist es noch ein langer Weg.

Einige Deutsche hatte sich in dem riesigen Feld eingefunden. Unsere Kolumnisten Felix Osterland und Sandra Naujoks waren ebenso am Start wie Sandras Shooting Star Kollege Florian Langmann und weitere Youngsters wie Tobias Reinkemeier, Nico Behling und Nasr el Nasr. Auch Altmeister Eddy Scharf war unter den Teilnehmern zu finden.

Auch durchwegs prominente Namen waren zu finden – Tiffany Michelle, Men Nguyen, Evelyn Ng, Hevad Khan, Kathy Liebert, JC Tran, Freddy Deeb, Gavin Smith, David Singer, TJ Cloutier, Dario Minieri, Justin Bonomo, Jonathan Little, Andy Black, Shaun Deeb, Phil Hellmuth, John Juanda, Chris Ferguson, Bertrand Grospellier und viele andere mehr.

Für Freddy Deeb war das Turnier bald vorbei, als er mit zwar das Flush hatte, sein Gegner mit aber das höhere. Auch David Singer, Vanessa Rousso, Kristy Gazes und James Mackey kamen nicht sehr weit. Theo Tran scheiterte mit seinen Pocket 8s, als er auf einen 10 high Flop all-in schob, sein Gegner mit callte.

Phil Hellmuth hatte Pech, als er am Board mit all-in pushte. Sein Gegner zeigte Pocket Queens für das Set. Der River konnte nichts mehr ändern und Phil Hellmuth muss Bracelet Nr. 12 noch verschieben.

Chris Ferguson musste ebenso gehen wie Full Tilt Kollege Eddy Scharf, auch JJ Liu, JC Tran und Rafe Furst kamen nicht bis ans Ende des Tages. Humberto Brenes wurden auch die Haifisch-Zähne gezogen.

Am Ende von Tag 1 waren noch rund 330 Spieler übrig. 297 Plätze werden bezahlt, damit geht es morgen zunächst mal um die Bubble. Florian Langmann hat sich auf dem ausgezeichneten 20. Platz niedergelassen, auch Sandra Naujoks darf morgen wiederkommen und um einen der bezahlten Plätze kämpfen.
