Die Poker Community darf derzeit ein fast filmreifes Drama mit ansehen. Auf Twitter hat sich eine verbale Schlacht zwischen Daniel Cates und Tom Dwan entwickelt, in der sich dann David Viffer eingeschaltet hat. Alle lassen die Muskeln spielen, doch zu den Karten wird nicht gegriffen.
Die Durrrr Challenge ist derzeit viel diskutiert. Daniel Cates aka Jungelman12 trat vor dem Black Friday gegen Tom Dwan alias Durrrr an den Highstakes Tables von Full Tilt Poker an. Die zähen Matches fanden dann ein Ende, als das DoJ einschritt und wenige später FTP offline ging.
Einige Male meldete sich Cates zu Wort und forderte Dwan auf, das Match auf einer anderen Plattform weiterzuführen. Nun hat er sich sogar öffentlich an den Poker-Pro gewandt, denn seit Full Tilt Poker online ist, spielt Dwan wieder.
In den letzten Tagen hat sich die Lage ein wenig zugespitzt. Cates meldete sich auf Twitter und prangerte Dwan öffentlich an, dass er anscheinend für andere Challenges und Matches Zeit hätte, nur nicht für ihn.
Dwan sorgte parallel für Verwirrung, da er bei einem Interview angab, in Verhandlungen mit Cates zu stehen. Gleichzeitig ließen beide ihre Muskeln auf Twitter spielen (Konversation weiter unten), wobei sich auch David ‚Viffer‘ Peat einmischte.
Zu guter Letzt meldete sich Tom Dwan auf Two Plus Two (Posts im Anhang) und bestritt, dass er Cates ausweichen würde. Lediglich ein gut laufendes Cash Game hält ihn ab, prompt auf Jungelman12s Anfragen zu reagieren. Das Angebot, die Challenge zu beenden, würde jedoch stehen.
Am Rande kursiert derzeit (wieder) ein Gerücht, dass Dwan broke ist und sich derzeit mithilfe eines Backers wieder hochspielt. Laut Angaben eines ‚Insiders‘ soll Dwan bei den Nosebleeds in Macau seine gesamte Bankroll verzockt und zwischenzeitlich mit HKD 55 Millionen (rund €5,45 Millionen) in der Kreide gestanden haben. Inzwischen sei er wieder im Plus, aber noch nicht ‚rolled‘ genug, um den Millionen Einsatz bei der Durrr Challenge aufzubringen.

Just to clarify: i think i didn’t respond to a text or two of jungle’s for 24hours? maybe 48 at most. was playing big live poker. theres no reason we can’t resume it. i told him i was overseas the last week or so and could play some but wasn’t sure how much he’d be free about 2wks ago. and I’m sponsored by ftp i don’t speak for their support or have anything to do with it obviously. if jungle was ready to play he could’ve texted me and asked me to try n get the tables back, but he knows that, and is just being a drama queen about the whole thing (like claiming I’m dodging when he knows I’m overseas and i think knows I’m playing big live poker n don’t answer all my texts instantly). we could’ve played a bit the last week or two and might be able to the next few days, then I’m in the us for a few weeks. i told him this rough schedule at least 2wks ago (i think more) and he said it sounded good then…
also nothing I’ve heard or read (admittedly i didn’t much) about the girah stuff has any impact on the challenge imo. correct me if I’m wrong but jungle was basically dumb and trusted someone he shouldn’t, and caused other people to be taken advantage of without knowing it?
none of the above surprises me or is all that relevant to my life/this challenge imo (but does make me a little more annoyed when the guy wants me to be at his becking call lol). i might be missing something tho
also one more thing… jungle beat me other than the challenge? maybe I’m missing something or he was on other names? i thought we barely played before it lol
