Der Auftakt der World Series of Poker (WSOP) mit dem $500 Casino Employees Event hat mittlerweile Tradition. Schon an Tag 1 wurden die Geldränge erreicht, 103 Spieler, die allesamt aus der Casino- und Pokerbranche kommen, dürfen noch auf das Bracelet hoffen.
Das $500 Casino Employees Event ist das erste Event der WSOP 2019. Die 20. Auflage des Turniers für Mitarbeiter der Industrie lockte 686 Spieler an die Tische, so dass es um $298.410 an Preisgeldern geht.
Kevin Mathers aka KevMath versuchte sein Glück, doch der US-Amerikaner rannte mit Ace-King in Könige, so dass die Bracelet-Jagd für ihn beendet war. Ebenfalls vorzeitig an die Rails musste der dreifache Bracelet-Gewinner Dutch Boyd.
Ursprünglich sollten Tag 1 nach 15 Blind Level beendet werden. Die Turnierleitung beschloss jedoch kurzfristig, dass bis zu den bezahlten Plätzen gespielt wird. Die Bubble platzte im 17. Level des Tages.
Der Flop zeigte 
, John Johnson stellte mit dem Open Ender 
rein und wurde von Bryan Wienhoff mit dem Top Pair (J-2) gecallt. Turn 
und River 
änderten nichts und die restlichen Spieler durften einpacken.
Die 103 verbliebenen Spieler haben $727 sicher, wenn es in Tag 2 geht. Das erste Bracelet ist $62.345 wert. Wie gewohnt dominieren die US-Amerikaner das Feld, Chipleader ist Cosmo Andoloro knapp vor Christopher Bowen.
