Während die Community in diversen Pokerforen davon ausgeht, dass das Preisgeld von € 20.000.000 bei der International Stadium Poker Tour (ISPT) garantiert wird, sagt eine Pressemitteilung auf der Webseite ISPT etwas anderes. Der Preispool wird mit einem „approximatly“, also nur mit einem erwarteten Wert angegeben.
Wie gestern in der 2+2 Zusammenfassung schon erwähnt, ist für viele Spieler die Garantie der € 20.000.000 die (einzige) Motivation, für das € 600 (+ Rebuy/Add-on) ins Wembley Stadion zu reisen. Die Vermutung, dass es einen riesigen Overlay geben würde, ist Anreiz genug.
Doch diese lukrative Aussicht wurde gestern von den Verantwortlichen der ISPT selbst zerstört. In der Presseaussendung heißt es dezidiert, dass der Preispool nur „erwartet“ und nicht garantiert wird. Damit darf die Zahl der erwarten Spieler gleichzeitig deutlich nach unten korrigiert werden. Denn der bloße Umstand, dass 30.000 Spieler im Wembley Stadion Platz haben, bringt noch keine 30.000 Spieler nach London.
Laurent und Bernard Tapie dürften hier neuerlich mehr versprechen, als sie halten können. Zudem bleiben nach wie vor sehr viele organisatorische Fragen offen und man darf gespannt sein, wie sich „das größte Pokerturnier der Welt“ bis zum tatsächlichen Termin im Mai 2013 weiterentwickelt.

ISPT Will Host First Ever Live and Online Poker Tournament In May of 2013
Paris — The International Stadiums Poker Tour (ISPT) has revolutionized the world of poker, establishing the first online and live tournament in poker history, scheduled for May 2013 at the legendary Wembley Stadium in London. The tournament will take place on a tactile tablet and around real tables, promising to be one of the biggest prize pools ever.
The online and live tournament is a brand new concept, devised thanks to technological innovations which will allow up to 30,000 players from all over the world to compete on digital tablets. The top 3,000 players will then advance to the live tournament which will be played on right on the Wembley Stadium field.
The tournament, which will feature a €600 buy-in, will be accessible for everyone. Organizers are expecting a huge turnout and a overall prize pool of approximately €20 million.
The first competition will take place from May 31st to June 6th, 2013. The project was thought up and created by Laurent Tapie and Prosper Masquelier. “We hope that this event will be fondly remembered by the participants and that it breaks all records in the matter,” said Tapie. “We had to consider an exceptional set up, a location that can host 30,000 people. Wembley seemed like the perfect option.”
